Why can’t a school yard be beautiful, fun and inspiring? Why does it need to be boring with institutionalised equipment?

In collaboration with Køge Private Realskole we have developed a school yard in to different levels: one for the wild and one for the quiet, linked together with a sculptural stair that also function as an element for play.

In the cold winter months the stair is lid up and the warm light is filtered through the wooden structure, creating an inviting feeling. As a friendly dinosaur, this is what welcomes the kids.

By using digital design process it has been possible to create a unique peace of architecture with a good economy.
