developable surface workshop.
Dev surface workshop.
The workshop was made in collaboration with Martin Tamke, CITA and held at department 7, kunstakademiets arkitektskole.
The workshop was based on experimentation with developable surfaces. A technique that allows complex forms to be unfolded, then lacer cut and assembled into objects that otherwise would be time-consuming and difficult to product with non digital tools.
The workshop questioned the student’s ability to convert registrations from a chosen context and then convert them into sets of parameters; parameters that would grow form.
It was a challenge where digital design fused with digital production.
